Abercrombie and Kent to Launch U.S. DMC With MICE Focus

Abercrombie & Kent is launching a destination management company in the United States. Helmed by Managing Director Marty Behr, who has been recognized as a top travel specialist for National Parks by Conde Nast Traveler, the new office will begin operations January 1, 2020.

The new destination management company will provide ground operating services to travel advisors, tour operators, cruise lines, and meeting and incentive groups. An Abercrombie & Kent spokesperson tells Meeting Spotlight that this will be the first time the company has provided shore excursions in the United States, although it has operated such services worldwide in destinations such as Egypt

Meeting and incentive groups will also be a key focus for the new company. According to Abercrombie & Kent, the company has been getting more and more requests from luxury travel advisors to design itineraries for corporate meetings and incentive groups.

More generally, there has been a growing global demand for luxury experiential travel in the United States, Abercrombie & Kent Executive Vice President – Destination Management Jonathan White said in a written statement announcing the new office.

In addition to his recognition by Conde Nast Traveler, Managing Director Marty Behr has decades of experience in luxury travel in the United States with a strong background in itinerary design, finding top local guides and coordinating logistics. He is currently in the process of scouting locations for the new office. Details on the office, as well as more product details, are still to come.
