New Zealand has released a request for a quote for a new business events research program. The new program is being helmed by a working group, established earlier this year and led by Conventions and Incentives New Zealand (CINZ), following a decision by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) to discontinue the previous research program, which the ministry had operated in partnership with regional convention bureaux.
The working group consists of stakeholders in the meetings, incentives, conferences and events industry. The new research program will aim to measure business events activity in New Zealand.
CINZ Chief Executive Sue Sullivan said that the working group is seeking a provider to collection and report on business events data, including a business events delegate survey and a business events venue survey.
The new data collection will be set up for the 2020 calendar year. The deadline for quote submissions is Friday, October 11, 2019, and the anticipated contract date start is January 1, 2020.
CINZ is a membership organization representing venues, regions, hotels and suppliers to the business events industry. Other members of the working group include Auckland Convention Bureau (part of ATEED), WellingtonNZ, Hamilton and Waikato Tourism, Statistics NZ and Tourism New Zealand.
