Royal Hawaiian Center Unveils Waikīkī’s Newest Public Rooftop

The Royal Hawaiian Center, a shopping, dining, entertainment and cultural complex in Waikīkī, has announced the opening of Ka Lewa Lānai, a newly expanded rooftop for special events and private gatherings. The new open-air space is available for the public to rent for customized celebrations of all sizes.

Ka Lewa Lānai is located on the topmost level of Building A, currently providing 5,091 square feet of al fresco event space, and overlooking the Kalākaua Avenue with subtle vantage points of the Koʻolau Mountain Range. The rooftop is coated with faux turf and accent floor tiling.

Ka Lewa Lānai is well-situated space for both public and private gatherings, in addition to Royal Hawaiian Center’s complimentary guest programming. On March 2, visitors can experience up-close views of the moon, planets and stars at the venue’s monthly “Rooftop Stargazing” event series.

Starting March 16, Mālama Hawai’i Maker’s Market, the Hawaii-based pop-up marketplace with a curated collection of local artists, makers, designers, collectors, and food vendors will be held at Ka Lewa Lānai. Formerly held on the third floor of the Center, the market will upgrade to the rooftop as a monthly event displaying the finest local, island-inspired array of hand-made treasures.

Ka Lewa Lānai is open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. To arrange a site visit or book an upcoming event, contact Helene “Sam” Shenkus, VP, director of marketing. For more information, visit www.royalhawaiiancenter.com.
