Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch is undergoing a phased $115 million property-wide renovation. When the project is unveiled in early October 2024, the property will debut as Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort, marking the first Grand Hyatt hotel in Arizona.
Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort will have 496 renovated accommodations. Guests can choose from various room types, ranging from residential-style casitas to spacious guestrooms and accessible rooms. Every guestroom will have a multi-purpose living space, a spa-inspired bathroom and a private balcony or patio. The resort’s casitas offer separate living spaces for entertaining and gathering; they are also equipped with a kitchenette and dual bathrooms with views of the resort’s pool and surrounding golf course.
The rebranded resort will also debut four new food and beverage concepts, including modern Italian chophouse La Zozzona; Tiki Taka, serving small plates; Southwestern grill Mesa Centrale; and the Grand Vista Lounge lobby bar. The property has already introduced two new poolside concepts, Sandbar and H2Oasis. The restaurants are led by James Beard-nominated cookbook author and chef Richard Blais, who currently co-stars alongside Gordon Ramsay on “Next Level Chef.” Additionally, Blais was the first winner of “Top Chef All-Stars.”
Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort will offer an upgraded 10-acre destination pool complex and expanded cabanas. There will be 10 unique pools and a beach. At the heart of the complex, a three-story, high-speed waterslide will offer excitement for guests of all ages. Additional facilities include a whirlpool spa and a beachside putting green.
In early September, the refreshed Spa Avania will introduce treatments aligned with the body’s natural daily rhythms. This approach combines personalized treatments, mineral water therapy, synchronized music and tailored nutrition. New treatments include Cryo Sculpt Facials, Desert Essence Wraps, CBD Trigger Point Therapy Massage, and more. The spa will have 19 treatment rooms, including garden and couple-friendly options, a Himalayan Salt Room, exercise facilities and various therapeutic amenities.
The resort also offers jogging paths, scenic bicycle trails that showcase the Sonoran Desert and complimentary bikes to explore the landscape. Additional recreation activities include 27 holes of championship golf at the adjacent Gainey Ranch Golf Club. Other facilities include two lighted tennis courts and eight pickleball courts.
In October, the Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort will unveil its fully renovated existing meeting space, including the updated 14,000-square-foot Vaquero Ballroom, as well as 52,000 square feet of existing indoor/outdoor function space. Rounding off the elevated meetings and events capabilities, and set to debut in January 2025, is the resort’s Arizona Ballroom. Upon completion, the venue will have nearly tripled in size to 24,000 square feet. The expanded Arizona Ballroom will join the refreshed meeting and event spaces to house a total of 90,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor function space, including 35,000 square feet of outdoor space and an additional 10,000 square feet of pre-function space. Groups can benefit from 48 meeting rooms, onsite AV support and high-speed internet.
