JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa has unveiled its extension project, besides new activities and experiences.
Nestled on a beach in Khao Lak, an hour’s drive north of Phuket International Airport, JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa has introduced 127 additional keys: 76 Deluxe Lagoon Pool View Rooms, 28 Deluxe Lagoon Pool Access Rooms, 20 Family Pool Access Studios, two One-Bedroom Villas and a Two-Bedroom Villa.
Following this expansion, the resort offers a total of 420 rooms, suites and villas, including 178 accommodations with direct access to a private pool or the resort’s nearly 1.5-mile-long lagoon pool waterway.
The new One- and Two-Bedroom Villas feature naturally lit living spaces, gardens and a private pool. Situated directly on southern Thailand’s sunset coast, the 1,506-square-foot Two-Bedroom Villa will be ideal for families, friends, couples and honeymooners.
The new accommodation is complemented by facilities, including an Aqua Play Zone with an outdoor swimming pool that laps against the terraces of the ground-floor pool-access rooms. It also features water slides, wave pools and a fountain trampoline. A series of JW Serene Spaces will include cozy cabanas and secluded corners.
JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa offers a collection of 11 dining and social venues. Its portfolio of restaurants now includes Drift Beach Bar & Grill, and a cocktail bar complements the beachfront experience.
Sala Restaurant & Pool Bar showcases Thai and Asian comfort food in a family-friendly setting. The list of restaurants featuring updated interiors and menus includes Olive Restaurant serving Italian fare; Thai restaurant Ta-Krai; and the Japanese eatery Sakura. The beverage offerings at the resort’s two swim-up bars and its Beach Bar have also been refreshed. The on-site garden grows organic herbs and other ingredients to be used in the restaurants, cooking classes and spa treatments.
A fully equipped fitness center, racket sports, water sports, cultural classes and the Quan Spa and children’s club complete the selection of leisure facilities. Guests can also enjoy snorkeling during offshore excursions to the Similan and Surin islands.
The recent renovation has created a new option for the MICE sector. The new JW Grand Ballroom can host up to 800 guests for corporate conferences, events, awards and incentives, besides weddings. This will reposition Khao Lak as a MICE hub and support the recovery of Thailand’s tourism industry.
JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa will soon be complemented by a sister property, JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort Suites—a collection of 52 two-bedroom suites. Offered across four categories, these suites are ideal for families and groups of friends.
